Chapel Beach is a nice
sand beach less than 2 miles from Chapel
Falls. If you are hiking to Chapel Falls, you really should
continue on to Chapel Beach. There, you'll be able to see Chapel
Rock and Lower
Chapel Falls. You'll also get a pretty good land-based view
of cliffs that line the Pictured Rocks Lakeshore. As a final benefit,
you can return to the parking area via a different trail than
the one you hiked in on.

Directions
Start by following the
directions to Chapel
Falls. From Chapel Falls, all you have to do is continue on
the trail for another 1 1/2 miles or so, and you'll get to Chapel
Beach.
Warnings
The area immediately surrounding
Chapel Rock can be dangerous. There are shear cliffs, and lower
down the rocks slope into Lake Superior. If you fall off a cliff,
you could be seriously injured or killed. If you slip into the
Lake, you may not be able to climb back out again. This is especially
true when the waves are high. Treat the cliff edges, the rock
slopes, and the lake with great respect.
